Overview Glenwood Country Day School, formerly Learning Through Play, founded in 1986, is a private, independent alternative to public and parochial schools. Our professional staff, working with parents, guides and provides students with the necessary skills, strategies, and knowledge to learn and succeed. Our teachers are truly dedicated to their profession, and many are pursuing advance course work and degrees to build upon their existing credentials with the support of the school. All teachers hold Bachelor's degrees. Our teachers use a variety of educational resources to create a developmentally appropriate environment for children. Our small classes mean more individual attention. Children feel part of the group and develop confidence and respect for themselves and their classmates. The small size of our school community helps allow every child the opportunity to experience and participate in all we have to offer. Our overall student:faculty ratio is 9:1. Mission Statement Glenwood Country Day School strives to motivate students to the best of their abilities while recognizing their individual talents and interests. The school encourages a strong school-family partnership, fosters self-esteem among students, and promotes respect for others. Glenwood Country Day School is committed to creating an academically challenging curriculum in a secure environment, while instilling a love learning that will last a lifetime. |
